Matthias made his way to the fields of Thala, eventually.
As soon as he got there, he fell on his back and closed his eyes. His wound was still in bad shape.
He sighed.
What a day, he thought.

Erryn, who was reading a book some ways away, saw the figure fall to the ground and squinted after it. It was a person, clearly.
He moved closer, taking the careful, measured steps leftover from his thief days, and looked down.
"Hello," he said. "I know you."
And then he saw the cut, and his eyes widened. "You may want to get a doctor for that, you know. And if you say no, then I will drag you to one, and in your state, it wouldn't be hard."

"Please......just leave me. I'm not saying this out of self-pity, I just need to.....rest...." Matthias recognized the man, but he was to tired to acknowledge it.

Erryn's eyebrows raised in concern. "No," he said. "No. Get up. Now." He leaned down and grabbed Matthias' good hand, the one not attatched the the injured arm. He pulled. "Get up. You can't rest here. That wound will get infected. If that happens, you could die."

Erryn swore under his breath. Even though it was freezing out, he pulled of his shirt and folded it so it was only about a foot or so wide. He tied it tightly - cut of the blood, he had heard - around the man's arm, yanking it and knowing that it probably hurt (he knew from experience that one does still feel pain while unconscious, especially in this kind of unconsciousness), but he knew it was for the man's own good. The tighter it was, the better.
He was lucky - the man wasn't bulky. Instead he was taller and thinner. Erryn himself was strong for his age, so it only was moderately painful for him to get the man in such a way that he could get him from point A to point B without doing much if any damage.
Erryn's house was far from here, but what was not far was an old little shack that used to belond to one of his family - his cousins, in fact. The elder, a man, had gone to work in the factory, while his younger sister had gone off the Queri to become a singer and, so she claimed, a soldier as well. But Erryn had never believed that last part.
He half dragged, half carried Matthias to the hut, then brought him inside and rather gratefully put him on one of the beds.
Now. A doctor.
Before he ran out the door, he took a moment to look at the small cottage. It was familiar - he had really half grown up here. But the last memory he had in this place was an awful fight, an awful, awful fight, with his cousin - the sister. It turned out that she had been right, but Erryn hadn't listened.
He hoped it wasn't bad luck, this place, and ran outside to get the town doctor.

"Here," Erryn said, rushing to the travelers side. Things didn't look good, and he was worried - something that rarely happened to Erryn. "I just found him. He wandered here. A ton of blood loss..."
That was right. He was bleeding all over the sheets. He doubted that his cousins would have minded, though. Both were kind people.

The doctor moved to the man's side. He was bleeding badly, but someone had wrapped the wound up, which was good. Carefully, he unwound the bandage - or shirt, more accurately.
The cut was bad. Deep. He could see immediately that the bone had been damaged, not just the muscle. It might not be the same again, but then again, maybe it might.
"You were right to get me, boy," the doctor said as he reached into his bag. He pulled out a needle and medical thread, and proceeded to stitch the wound up. It was really all he could do - there was little else that could be helped. He would give the man a sling, and the stitches should help the bleeding, but otherwise... well, there wasn't much to be done.
The stitches didn't take long, as the wound was more deep than wide - only a few were needed. "There," the doctor said. "When he wakes up, tell him that he can take those out himself - or have me do it, if he's still in town, though I doubt he will be - once hte wound is FULLY HEALED. And that he shouldn't move the arm at all, until he's confident that he can." He reached into his bag and pulled out a sling, handing it to Erryn. "And give him that. Call me again when he wakes up - I skipped out on another patient for you, boy!"
And with a sideways smile, the doctor left.

Erryn took the sling into his hands and fidgeted with it nervously, waiting for the man to wake up.
Injuries like this always made him nervous...

Matthias woke up silently. He didn't know what to think or say. His arm felt numb. A million thoughts raced through his head.

Erryn saw that he was awake. "Hello," he whispered, and he place the sling under the man's good hand.
And then he was silent.

Arianne stepped through the door -
- And stopped.
She saw Matthias lying on her brothers bed, bleeding everywhere. He looked barely conscious. And then there was Erryn, beside him.
What was going on?
She wanted to be angry. She was definitely.... not happy. She didn't want to see Matthias right now, and she certainly wasn't ready to see Erryn yet.
She stood in the door, dumbstruck, for a moment, before saying, softer than she intended, "What is going on?"

Erryn jumped up. "Arianne!" he cried. The last person he expected to see here. The very last.
He ran to her and hugged her, hard. The last time he saw her they had fought, but now she was here, and she had been right, and he was sorry. He told her so.

Arianne pushed him away, her eyes on Matthias. "Thank you," she said, "but I don't... think this is the time, right now. What is he doing here?"
She moved to his side. He didn't look well at all; but it seemed that a doctor had been there, because the wound was stitched up.

Erryn hesitated, confused. "I found him," he answered, "lying in the fields. Collapsed from blood loss and exhaustion, I think."
Another hesitation. "You act as if you know him, Arianne."
