Ran slowed down as she blended into the crowd. Finally stopping, Ran plopped down on the wall of a shop. She was breathing quite hard. Once she was able to breathe normally, she pulled out another pouch. This one actually had a little money in it.
"Only 3 silvers to my name. I'm pathetic." She said quietly to herself. She hadn't been able to steal much for the past few days. Ran put the pouch away. A strand of her dirty blonde hair fell in front of her face. She pulled a black, dirty ribbon from her pocket and tied her hair back, revealing her scarred face. She stood up and leaned on the wall, almost as if waiting for someone, or something to come.

The Handful of Feathers's owner walked down the street. He looked more than a little preturbed - and to annoyed to try and hide it. He had the distinct look of someone searching for something.

Ran saw the owner walking in her direction. "Oh damn..." She said quietly to herself. Ran got up and triend to blend in with the crowd.
'If I'm caught.... Man, I better stay low...' She thought, moving with the crowd. Taking off her ribbon, she tried to hid her face with her hair. Ran tried to stay near blonde-haired adults, so maybe he would think she was their child. Ran tried as hard as she could to look like any other 15 year old. She hoped it was enough to keep the owner of The Handful of Feathers away.

THe man stopped and looked around. Then he moved on, continuing through the crowd and out of sight.

Once the man was gone, Ran sighed and started to walk slower.
"It's too risky to stay here. I better leave soon." She said to herself, "But maybe I can get a few more silvers before I go.." A crooked smile came across her face. Ran reached in her pocket and took out a dirk. She bent down towards the ground and seemingly dissapeared.

A young woman saw the girl disappear out of the corner of her eye. Startled, she started toward the area where she had seen the girl... or THOUGHT she had seen her...
Was it just her imagination, or did the girl really just disappear...?

All Ran now saw were legs and the pouches that hung near them. She slowly and quietly started cutting the ropes that held them. She knew exactly how to get them without the person noticing. All those days spent training in the Backwaters, stealing things from innocent citizens and stupid muggers paid off.

The woman looked around, and, seeing nothing, began to walk away after a few minutes.

After cutting away 5 pouches, Ran made her way to the side of the busy street. She made sure to hide the bags in her pocket so no one would see them. Once Ran was away from the main street, she went down a poorly lit alleyway. Ran hid behind an old box of garbage and began counting her loot.
"31 silvers, not bad." She said grinning. She dumped the newly stolen silvers in her own pouch and threw the other bags further into the alleyway. Ran then got up and began making her way to the main street.
