Please post here if you're character is going to be joining the army. Make it a real post, please, not just "so-and-so is signing up". Like, an RP post. Short one, though, if you want. Whatever.
Anyway. Characters can't interact here, because technically some could be in different countries in this thread. ^_^

Arianne strode up to the booth feeling confident, yet, at the same time, very afraid. And angry. Very, very angry.
Ever since the war began, she knew that she wanted to fight for her country - a country that she loved and cared for like a family member. But now it was worse. The Vorians had actually attacked, devastated the land, the people, and herself. There was no way in heaven or hell that she was going to let that happen.
She wrote her name on the sheet of paper listing the recruits.
ooc: Does she... go somewhere? Or something?

Waking up on the bench in which he had fallen asleep on the night before, Astor sat up quickly, startled by his surroudings. It wasn't long before he realized where he was, and then was once again hit hard with the visions in which he had tried to erase. All night long, he remembered himself having terrible nightmares about these visions...but he also remembered something else.
Suddenly wide awake, he noticed a gathering of people in the center of the town. Curiously, Astor made his way over to the mass of citizens, each in whom was part of an unorderly line of sorts. He glanced to the right and noticed a man about his height, with short blonde hair and blue eyes. He turned around quickly, startled by the fact that he remembers that face...could it simply be deja vu from a dream the night before?
When he finally realized what the line was headed for, he turned around to leave. Yet, something held him in his place...not a physical object, but rather a mental constraint. He had wanted to become a soldier all of his life, but instead he had chosen to abandon his dreams for a less perilous future. Yet, something felt wrong about leaving...
This was when he made his decision. Confidently, he strutted up to the small wooden booth and signed the paper without hesitation. He was now committed to helping save other people from what had happned to him...and damn proud of it.

Ranik walked by when he saw the paper. He looked at it. he thought about it. Then he knew that this was what he needed to do. After all, he would finally put that sword training to use. he signed his name and walked off.

Matthias eventually made his way to a recruiting station near the palace, where he was certain he would find some answers at, why his homeland attacked so suddenly. And their purpose. He looked around, and saw a nearby recruiter..... " You there!" He yelled for his attention.

A tall, thin young man turned, pushing his long reddish hair out of his face. "Yes?" His face was hot - he had been so busy since the attack. It was nearly stifling, the workload they had him under.

"This may be under your authority, but.....why has Vore attacked so suddenly? Does anyone know their intentions as of yet?" He replied hopefully.

The man's eyebrows raised. Well, this would be good. Too many hours of this list-taking and such was making him restless. He was eager to talk.
"NO ONE knows!" he said, shrugging his shoulders. "Not even Farin, from what I've heard. Poor man, I mean, he isn't exactly the best at handling this sort of thing, yes? But the whole thing is so whimiscal! We have women signing up, you know that? And kids! No older than ten, you know! Hell, we've got ten year old girls signing up! And you know what else?" He leaned closer. "We're lettin' 'em! We're lettin' them go!"

"That's a sound strategy for defeat. The tactics of the king suprise me. If such inexperienced children were to partake in war, this country would not only face immediate seige, but future generations of people will also be lost.........all citizens should evacuate now. Farin should have had more resolute defence against these situations." He turned around. "See what happens when you make such a vital flaw?" He looked at the hundreds of people being recruited. "The citizens are tricked into taking up arms for their country in such a dire situation. I don't think Farin, or anyone else here, knows what they're up against......" He looked back at the recruiter. "Anyway, I'm leaving. I suggest you do the same." He started to walk away.

The man snorted. "Hey!" he called. "Hey! You think this is FARIN'S choice? It's not, I'll tell you. If Farin knew more about this, heads would roll. No, he's too busy locking himself up in the palace. Thinking. Won't talk at all, I hear. So don't blame him for this. It's not so much that anyone's encouraging it - it's just that no one stops it." He grimaced; it really was sad. "It isn't right. Too many people are going to get killed in this. But then again, if we didn't allow anyone under 16 and no girls, then the whole damn country would get killed. It's a no win situation." He shrugged. "ANyway, I hear that Farin is thinking about holding a big... celebration, almost, but not quite. Sort of like a huge party, maybe. Any way he can to get everybody in one place long enough for him to talk, face-to-face. Being really stubborn about it, I heard. Has to be face-to-face, and he's got to have everyone there. He's using outright bribes to get 'em there." He paused, looked away, then turned back. "I mean, well, s'only a rumor, though."

"Emotion is the last thing you bring to the battlefield. I'm not blaming it all on him, I'm just saying that it's his position to keep a strong and peerless leadership ability, and to keep his country in check. That's his role. He is a king after all." He changed the subject. "And what about this celebration? What does he have to celebrate? Or is he just keeping morale in check?"

The man sighed. "Well, it's not quite a celebration, really. Basically, I think what he is trying to do is bribe people to come - and I'm sure the morale thing should help quite a bit, too. He wants to address everyone at once, face-to-face." He shrugged. "But it's only a rumor."

"Guess that means that you won't fight then, eh? Well..." THe man saluted loosely. "Good luck to you, anyway. You're probably making a smart move."

Looking neither right nor left, Eli slouched into the booth. He let his hair fall across one of his eyes. He still wasn't certain whether joining the army was the right decision, but nobody seemed to have need of an apprentice healer in any of the villages or cities, and it seemed the only viable option. Feeling slightly conspicuous in his white and blue medics garb, Eli walked up to the parchment and signed his name, writing "Medic" next to it, just in case he should accidentally be misconstrued as a soldier.
